Dave Nychyk - Head Coach
With six Provincial Championships, and two Western Canadian Championships, Dave left Winnipeg to start his college career by playing 2 years at California Junior College Victor Valley College and was named Player of the Year in his sophomore year, 1 year at Western New Mexico University, and completed his playing days at Mayville State University where his team was inducted into the Mayville State Athletic Hall of Fame.  Dave was an assistant coach at the Mayville State University before returning home where he won the Brian Domes Memorial Award in 1995 for his dedication to baseball. Dave brings much playing and coaching experience to the Jr Goldeyes program and we are happy to have him back for his 8th season as head coach.
 
Jon Ali - Director of Player Development
A graduate of Rookies College Development Program, Jon played college baseball at Kwantlen College in Surrey, BC and won the freshman Athletic Award in 2005 and was named Athlete of the Year as a Sophmore in 2006. He then moved on to play at the University of Texas, Brownsville where he played two seasons and graduated with a bachelor of kinesiology. Jon is entering his 8th season as a coach for the Jr Goldeyes program.  In addition Jon has worked for many other organizations since ending his playing career. He has been a part time pitching coach for the Langley Blaze, Canada’s premier 18U program, the assistant coach for the Weyburn Beavers (College Summer League), and an assistant coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks fall scouting program. Jon was also named to the coaching staff to the T12 showcase at the Rogers Centre in Toronto in 2015.
 
Strength and Conditioning Coordinator – Wes Pomarensky
Wes Pomarensky is CSEP-CEP based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Since graduating from the University of Winnipeg with his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in 2012, he has worked for over six years in the fitness industry. As a Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Level II provider combined with his studies into Long Term Athletic Development, he has a unique, effective background into the interplay between physical literacy and elite performance.
Wes believes in building a solid foundation of movement and physical literacy on which strength, power and athleticism can be improved. He has worked with various populations ranging from acute chronic disease care, injured return-to-work individuals to high school elite level sports athletes. He places great importance on continuing education, and has taken many courses through world class health and fitness organizations such as FMS, StrongFirst, and the Prague School of Rehabilitation.
